Proposal Allowing CITs in 403(b) Plans Passes out of Committee
A bill introduced by Representative Frank Lucas (R-OK) was approved by the House Financial Services Committee with bipartisan support by a vote of 35-12. H.R. 3063 would amend securities laws to allow collective investment trusts (CITs) in 403(b) plans. While SECURE 2.0 amended the Internal Revenue Code to allow CITs for 403(b) arrangements, correlating securities laws amendments required to fully implement the provision were omitted.
The bill will now move to the full House of Representatives for consideration.
