Message from David Musto, CEO of Ascensus
Staying Strong Together in These Uncertain Times.
It’s safe to say that the environment in which we’re living and coping today is unlike any most of us have seen in our lifetimes. Worry for our own health and that of our loved ones, challenges to the operation of virtually every type of business, social distancing, travel restrictions, and startling global financial market volatility sometimes feel beyond our ability to process.
So, what will we do?
We can start by reminding ourselves that the global “we” are all in this together. This pandemic acknowledges no national border, ethnicity, political party, or economic standing in its reach.
We can do our best to maintain a note of optimism for our families, communities and our workplace colleagues, keep the lines of communication open and populated, and strive to embrace this new reality while continuing to move forward in the most positive way possible.
We can foster a sense of hope and calm in both our words and actions. On that note, legislative efforts being discussed in Washington, D.C., would be of particular benefit to our nation’s employers and savers, providing financial support, regulatory relief, and administrative flexibility to America’s workforce and economy when these actions are needed most.
And we can remind ourselves and others that the underlying fundamentals, leadership, competitive strength, and growth potential of the companies that serve as barometers for the world’s markets and global enterprise haven’t actually changed, and will ultimately help lead the recovery and stability we all crave right now.
At Ascensus, we’re seeing colleagues find new ways to connect, to empathize, and to support all who depend on us. It takes both caring and focus, along with a commitment to doing all we can personally to push back against the challenges, and hold fast to the belief that this, too, shall pass.
- We remain committed to serving the needs of savers across this country, working with the plan sponsors, advisors, institutions, and state governments with which we partner to be as responsive and supportive as humanly possible.
- Longstanding business continuity plans are fully implemented and operating, and our shift to remote working arrangements has gone smoothly, helping us sustain connectivity with one another and all who depend on us.
- Our client representatives are doing all they can to help, responding to remarkable call volumes with care and compassion.
- And our government relations team is working diligently to support the aforementioned efforts in Washington, D.C., offering our thoughts on the measures that would best support the needs of American business owners and individual savers.
We share everyone’s hopes for health, safety, and a welcome return to all aspects of life to emerge on the horizon soon. In the meantime, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the scientists, first responders, and healthcare professionals putting the lives and wellbeing of others first and foremost every day under extraordinary circumstances.
